Seraph

This was a five minute acrylic “sketch” that I did about three years ago. I was incredibly frustrated with another realistic painting and so fell back on semi-abstract.
Abstract painting is the great condolence of the ill-trained.
I wouldn’t say ill-trained. But yes sometimes abstract can be quite cathartic.

I hope I did not offend! I love abstract in itself as an art form, I was referring only to myself and my (frustrating) lack of formal training.
Thanks for taking the time to visit!

No you didn’t offend. There just seems to be plethora of people out there who because they don’t understand abstract sluff it off as untalented. And with regards to lack of formal training, I’d argue it isn’t necessary. I don’t have a BFA and I wouldn’t say I’m poorer for not having gotten it. There are tons of in debt art students out there working at the local fast food place. Count yourself lucky.

I also like abstract ALOT. I am untrained though, so I suppose I can’t be offended at that comment, if you take it at face value.
It sure is easier sometimes. Though lately even my abstract stuff takes me hours….
